Google’s “SketchUp” –

Visit their web site for an outstanding, “eye popping” display of what this software can do.  See their free on-line tutorials demonstrating this product.  Then download the software for free.

Their web site says:

“Google SketchUp is software that you can use to create, modify and share 3D models. It's easier to learn than other 3D modeling programs, which is why so many people are already using it.”

“We designed SketchUp's simplified toolset, guided drawing system and clean look-and-feel to help you concentrate on two things: getting your work done as efficiently as possible, and having fun while you're doing it.”

“Start modeling in SketchUp in less than a day”

“Even the most powerful tool is useless if you can't figure out how to make it work. Most people get rolling with SketchUp in a couple of hours. Dozens of video tutorials, an extensive Help Center and live training classes mean that anyone who wants to make 3D models with SketchUp, can.”

“Use SketchUp to model anything you can imagine”

“Redecorate your living room. Build a volcano for the science fair. Model your business and put it in Google Earth. We designed SketchUp to make it easier for you to think and communicate in 3D. How you decide to use it is entirely up to you. That said, check out the Google 3D Warehouse to see what other people are modeling.”

“Instead of making you type coordinates, SketchUp has an advanced guidance system of colors, lines and text hints that help you keep track of where you are and what you're doing. And just like the tools you use in real life, each of SketchUp's small number of tools does a multitude of things. This makes it easier to learn, easier to use and (most importantly) easier to remember how to use.”
